Day 143: Higher.

You just keep dangling them carrots overhead.
And watch me jump.

  1. We took the bikes out for a brisk thirty miles yesterday: North Stainley with its two duck ponds, Tanfield and on to Masham where the sweet and heavy scent of hops rolled down to us from the brewery. The vale woods white with snowdrops wrapped us in misted silence then up and up onto the moor of light and air, lapwings snapped away in the lazy wind and the mew of curlew. Sight of cathedral and home like grinning red faced schoolboys – hurried jam sandwiches and tea.

  2. Hmm, sounds great. I'm curious to know: what about "jumping for dangling carrots" made you think of all that?

  3. Dear Tanya,

I'm afraid I haven't the faintest idea; I was rather hoping you might be able to tell me! By the same token I'm curious to know what it is about carrots that makes you want to jump?
